Steven Marshall places his stylised figures in knowingly artful settings. At a show in Bristol a year or two back he delivered a series of dry, tongue in cheek Mondrian parodies, populated with seated secretaries and perambulating couples. This time round he's taken the sights and textures of the urban environment as his back drop, placing ghostly people on rough plywood hoardings or signs or street furniture. Steven is one of three artists taking part in the first show at the newly re-opened Prema Gallery in Uley, which has just undergone a £128,000, Lottery-funded face lift. His work is on show from 3 October - 9 November.
